Rest Assured: local comfort, world-class style
When you travel, the last thing you want to worry about is your hotel. With Country Walkers you can rest assured. We only choose accommodations that meet our strict standards for authenticity, quality, hospitality, and service. Additionally, we favor hotels, inns, and lodges that provide quick and easy access to trails and activities, hire locals, and operate with sustainable practices in mind.
On our Guided Walking and Private Adventures, for example, we stay at Casa Corcovado on our Costa Rica: Southern Rainforest & Coast tour, an award-winning jungle lodge that has earned Costa Rica’s coveted “five leaves” for sustainable tourism. The lodge has become an international standard for the perfect balance between luxury and low environmental impact. Guests on Country Walkers Ecuador: The Highlands tour spend two nights at the grand Hacienda Zuleta, which is located at 9,600 feet along the famed ‘Hacienda Trail.’ The 4,000-acre Hacienda Zuleta was established in 1691 and is today a working farm owned by the family of a former Ecuadorian president. Outside magazine named Zuleta one of the world’s 'Top Ten Finds,' and it was awarded the 'Most Excellent Eco Resort' for South America in 2010 by Condé Nast. Each of Zuleta’s 15 bedrooms is comfortably decorated and features a private fireplace. Expect delicious home cooking prepared with organic grains and vegetables, trout, cheese, and dairy—all raised and prepared at the Hacienda.
Whether you stay in a luxurious tent by Sahara’s mighty sand dunes or in one of North America’s stately lodges, you can trust that Country Walkers has carefully selected the accommodation for its service, good practices, comfort, style, access, grandeur, and heritage.
Accommodations on our Self-Guided Walking & Self-Guided Biking tours are cozy, comfortable, and stylish places to relax after an active day on your feet or bike. From a monastery turned elegant hotel on the Spanish island of Mallorca, to a lovingly restored 19th-century Alpen hotel in the heart of Davos, Switzerland, each property is carefully selected for its high level of quality, service, and location.
The luxury expedition vessels for our Small Ship Cruising adventures feature cabins with private bathrooms, ample storage, and in-room heat or air-conditioning. Amenities vary from ship to ship, but typically include great decks, a library, gym, dining room, bar, lounge, an office with ship-to-shore communications, and a clinic with a licensed doctor.
