Quebec: Quebec City & the Charlevoix

You begin your adventure in Québec City, an old-world outpost with cosmopolitan flair. Start with a guided walk down centuries-old cobblestone streets lined with architectural and cultural riches. Visit Montmorency Falls, which plummet from heights higher than Niagara. Then head for Parc National de la Jacques-Cartier, a little-known natural gem of deep valleys, rising summits, and scenic overlooks.

Following the mountainous shores of the mighty St. Lawrence River, you’ll enter the Charlevoix, a World Biosphere Reserve of forests, granite cliffs, and plunging ravines whose villages offer tasty delights like homemade cheeses and maple syrup. At Parc National des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie, waterfalls splash hundreds of feet into the largest Canadian canyon east of the Rockies. Then you’ll discover the Saguenay Fjord, where a Zodiac ride will take you in search of whales and leave you wondering why this distinctive wonderland has been so overlooked.
